Introducing a Hispanic tradition into the broader American culture
To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month we wanted to bring a piece of unknown Hispanic culture to life in the United States. So we established the occasion of “Sobremesa”, which describes that moment when friends and family of different Hispanic backgrounds linger at the table together after lunch or dinner to exchange stories and culture.
“Sobremesa” has no direct English translation and the only way to understand this piece of Hispanic culture it is to experience it. Therefore we teamed up with several Hispanic chefs in key cities and invited the Hispanic community and everyone else to celebrate with us Hispanic Heritage Month.
